Somtech (CEO Yang Hee-bong), a company specializing in medical imaging solutions, announced on October 13 that it hosted an academic seminar on forehead lifting using its 4K endoscopic system, 'VES-400,' at the '2026 Autumn Academic Conference of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons' held on October 11 at Catholic University's Omnibus Park in Seoul.
The seminar was led by Dr. Ryu Da-hye, Director of Waterdrop Plastic Surgery, and was attended by about 60 external specialists. According to the company, the VES-400 system provides high-resolution 4K imagery essential for fine dissection and minimizing bleeding during forehead lifting and breast surgery. The company added that it also supports large-capacity recording and broad scope compatibility to meet the needs of clinic practitioners who place high importance on surgical video documentation.
Somtech reported that 11 institutions, including university hospitals and plastic surgery clinics, confirmed demo trials following the conference. A company official stated, "We plan to optimize dedicated modules and peripheral devices, such as monitors and carts, tailored to these institutions. We will continue to support academic seminars and provide customized solutions on-site."
Somtech also showcased its digital 3D surgical microscope, 'VOMS-202D.' The company explained that the device utilizes high-definition 3D visualization technology, making it suitable for applications in face-lift surgeries and hair transplantation."
